Hey, open that box!

“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted.” -Ecclesiastes 3:1-2

Earlier last week -Monday night to be precise, I noticed something missing on one of the walls….. A picture frame! My beautiful picture frame.  This was unusual since I live alone, I was triple sure no one had gifted themselves. It was actually a gift from my friend!

While still pondering over it, I noted a slight gap behind the sofa, right where the frame sat!. And then it hit me. It fell off.

How could it have dropped? The hook was one of the strongest? Lets just say I couldn’t summon the courage to check it out as I knew what they results would be.

For three days, I kept strategically ignoring that place and the thought of uncovering the damage was too much to handle. I closed that box conveniently as my friend Sly has taught me.

So this closing the box is the way I handle things I am not ready to deal with. Putting it off to another day when I am stronger or ready for the outcome.

Back to the picture frame, on Wednesday night I finally felt strong to uncover the damage by ‘opening the box’. All this happened in my head. I had talked to myself most of the day plus I had had a beautiful day, to the point that nothing could dampen my mood. That became the perfect day to ‘open the box’. The frame was damaged but I was safely intact! Phew!

Now you get the picture, there is a time for everything under the sun!

At one other time in my life, I had to open a certain box. That of receiving Christ and accepting His ruler ship over my life. That is one very crucial box that cannot be kept off till a Wednesday night.

Jesus told the Laodicea Church in Revelation 3:20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with Me.

Heb 3: 15 says “while it is said: “Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.

Let today be the day that box is opened for Christ to come it. Open the box to forgiveness and see the wonders. Open the box to bitterness and release the poisonous contents. Open the box of fear and let God heal you. Open the box of love and share it with others.

Open that box!

  1. Carol, you write so beautifully.I totally agree with and appreciate that there are seasons in life.WheWhen we embrace that concept,it helps us appreciate life and relationships. It helps us carry less buggage and be happier

About the box,we must understand our emotions especially as ladies and like men put things in boxes and handle them when we are fully present and ready to tackle the issue soberly.
