No longer slave to fear

There is a song that has captured my heart and God is using it to free me from deep fear that has almost crippled my life for the last one year.  One second at a time.

I have experienced bouts of fear as if always expecting terror.  This is probably the first time I’m admitting that I’ve been walking in fear.

Knowing that I am a child of God puts my heart at peace. Peace makes me long for the loving arms of a Father who loves me unconditionally.

He has helped me sleep at night.

He has helped me cross roads amid terrible fears.

He has watched my back when my legs are paralyzed.

He has freed me.

I read someplace that Freedom is being you without anyone’s permission!!

It’s for freedom that Christ died.  I’m free at last.  Free to live an abundant life.

“No Longer Slaves”

You unravel me with a melody
You surround me with a song
Of deliverance from my enemies
‘Til all my fears are gone

[2x]
I’m no longer a slave to fear
I am a child of God

From my mother’s womb
You have chosen me
Love has called my name
I’ve been born again
Into your family
Your blood flows through my veins

[4x]
I’m no longer a slave to fear
I am a child of God

I am surrounded
By the arms of the father
I am surrounded
By songs of deliverance

We’ve been liberated
From our bondage
We’re the sons and the daughters
Let us sing our freedom

You split the sea
So I could walk right through it
My fears were drowned in perfect love
You rescued me
And I could stand and sing
I am a child of God…

You split the sea
So I could walk right through it
You drowned my fears in perfect love
You rescued me
And I will stand and sing
I am a child of God

Yes, I am
I am a child of God
I am a child of God
Yes, I am
I am a child of God
Full of faith
Yes, I am a child of God
I am a child of God

[3x]
I’m no longer a slave to fear
I am a child of God

  1. Carol,

Thank you for sharing.Indeed fear and love can not co exist because perfect love drives out all fear. As sons,we shouldn’t be slaves to fear because our daddy,God is love and if we are true sons we are free.

  2. This is a great piece and totally inspiring. And to know that someone else has been through a path you are on, is, to be modest, very encouraging. The path of fear. I shall overcome, like you did.

  3. It’s interesting Carol that God is using this song and His word to help me overcome deep seated fears as well. Indeed we are no longer slaves to fear but children of God. Let us continue to commit each other to God as the body of Christ. We are overcomers through Christ.
